4.3 Infos

New Raid - The Deathwing raid, making it very likely to be the last patch before the next expansion.
3 new 5-man instances - Including one in the Caverns of Time. (War of the Ancients was mentioned as a cataclysm instance a few years ago, but a lot of things have changed since then, who knows!)
The Transmogrifier NPC, which will let you change the appearance of any armor piece on you, while retaining the stats of your current gear. (= T12 stats, but with the Tier 2 look!)
Players won't be able to change the appearance of their armor into another armor type or class armor set, and you might have to own the armor before you can use it to swap the appearance of your existing armor.
The Void Storage is a new type of bank where players will be able to store their old armors in order to free up space in their regular bank.
The Abyssal Maw dungeon is gone for the moment, the storyline wasn't convincing enough/fitting.

Patch 4.3

  • If you add up all of the Deathwing encounter stages, it will be the longest fight in the game.
  • Each stage of the fight will take place in a different location and offer some loot.
  • The encounter starts at Wyrmrest Temple, progressing toward the players being on Deathwing's back while he is flying toward The Maelstrom.
  • The new five man encounters will build up to the Deathwing fight, similar to how the Icecrown five man instances built up to the Lich King.
  • To combat the complaints of armor always looking the same, there is a sub-lead who is in charge of guiding the art team to produce new styles not found in the game yet.


After Cataclysm

  • More armor customization could be coming in the future; Transmogrification was a solution that could be finished in time for Patch 4.3.
  • After Patch 4.3, and the world event, the team is going to focus on keeping players entertained and enjoying the game.
  • There are more people that played World of Warcraft, but no longer play World of Warcraft, than the number of people that currently play World of Warcraft. They want to lower the barrier to entry and find some way to bring back players that no longer play.
  • On Mists of Pandaria: "Most of the time when we do anything panda-related it's going to be a comic book or a figurine or something like that."
  • They realize some people quit because they made the content more accessible to everyone and it no longer felt elite.
  • Raids are significantly harder than they were in WotLK, but the rewards are not much better than heroic five man rewards. This causes a lack of motivation to raid.
  • They believe that each spec plays like a separate class, making the game feel as if there are 30 classes.
  • Player created content is still in the back of their minds because of how well it worked in Starcraft II. Developing tools for players would take a lot of work, but the reward would be great as well.



Meine Erwartung für 5.0

Statt neuen Klassen werden die drei verschiedenen Bäume zusammengeführt und jede Klasse wird ihre eigene Heldenklasse. Wie auch immer genau das passiert, aber so werden es wieder 10 Klassen, statt 30.

Heroic: Ragnaros Nerf
The Heroic version of Ragnaros in the Firelands has been hotfixed and considerably nerfed a few minutes ago.

- The 25-man version of Ragnaros now has 246M HP, down from 290M.
- The 10-man version of Ragnaros now has 74M HP.


Heißt wir sehen sehr bald die PVE Gear Epidemie wieder im PVP.

Leicht sowieso. Das ist ja eine reine Sammelorgie. Der Nerf kam jetzt nur, bevor die 25er Raids sich davon 7-8 Stück zusammensammeln. Nur leider werden die meisten 10er jetzt kaum eins fertig bekommen vor T13. Blizzard eben Zwinkern

Es ist nicht optimal gelöst aber solange die Legendaryflut gestopt ist kümmert es mich recht wenig ob 10er Raids ein Item nicht bekommen.

Legendary-Flut? Um ehrlich zu sein, entgeht mir diese "Flut" etwas. Scheint mir eher ein tropfender Wasserhahn zu sein - ich gehe jedenfalls nicht davon aus, dass ich jemals so ein Ding in der Hand halte. Vor allem der Questreihe wegen finde ich das nicht gut... (ja, ich queste gerne)

Ghostcrawler: Sure. It is a pair of daggers – a main-hand and an off-hand dagger. We are designing them such that all three Rogue specs will be able to use it. We have a little tweak in there so that Combat Rogues will be able to Sinister Strike with the daggers without it being a big DPS loss.

The story of these legendary daggers has to do with the last remaining pure black dragon egg. So kind of how we got here is the black dragons are a really cool enemy in our universe, they have been for a while, but we’re kind of killing them off a lot. Onyxia has been killed and brought back so many times that we’re starting to feel bad for the old girl. Nefarian is dead, again, and Deathwing is going down. So we thought we were running out of black dragons, and we really didn’t want to do that because they’re a really great enemy and we really want to use them again in the future.

So players who play through the Cataclysm quests in the Badlands will remember a questline around this uncorrupted black dragon egg. It was free of the taint of the Old Gods. So what is going to happen is that black dragon egg eventually hatches and there is a black dragon prince who is pure – he’s not a minion of Deathwing; he’s not corrupted by the Old Gods. But that doesn’t mean he is necessarily a good guy. He’s kind of out for himself, he’s kind of got his own agenda, and to bring his plans to fruition he contacts the Rogue because Rogues are a little shady, always working in the shadows, always playing a number of games and has other things going on. The black dragon prince reaches out to the Rogue character and says “If you help me out, I’ll reward you with these increasingly more powerful daggers”.

We thought that we liked part of the Rogue story. We thought that Rogues had maybe felt a little bit not special in this expansion with all the high damage numbers that were being done by classes like Mages. We thought it was just the right opportunity to make them shine and feel kind of special. Unless you count the bow, we haven’t done any class specific legendaries to this extent before, so we thought it would be fun to make the legendary quest VERY Rogue-themed. There will be stealthing and pickpocketing, things we know that a Rogue can handle. Then, the weapons themselves, their proc, we’re still building, but the idea is that their proc will tie in something very Rogue specific as well.

Seal of Insight no longer restores the paladin's mana.
Clarity of Purpose now also affects Holy Radiance.
Infusion of Light now also affects Holy Radiance.
Judgements of the Pure now also increases your mana regeneration from Spirit while in combat by 10/20/30%.
Light of Dawn now heals up to 6 targets, up from 5.

Atonement now affect a friendly target within 100 yards, up from 15.

Combat
Backstab damage has been reduced by 50%. (This change is NOT in the official notes and could be a parsing error)

Assassination
Ambush damage has been reduced by 48%. (This change is NOT in the official notes and could be a parsing error)
Mutilate now deals 179% weapon damage, up from 150%. Damage no longer increased against poisoned targets.

Shaman (Forums / Cataclysm Talent Calculator / Beta Skills/Talents)
Elemental
Elemental Fury now removes the cooldown from your Chain Lightning spell.
Thunderstorm now also reduces the enemies movement speed by 40% for 5 sec.
Wind Shear now has a 25 sec cooldown, up from 6 sec.
Call of Flame no longer increase the duration of Flame Shock on Fire Nova damage.
Lava Flows now increases critical strike damage bonus of Lava Burst by 8/16%, up from 6/12%.
Reverberation now reduces the cooldown of Wind Shear by 10/20 sec.

Enhancement
Flametongue Weapon now increases magical damage done by 5%, instead of increasing spell damage by 747.
Lava Lash now deals 260% weapon damage, up from 200%.
Mental Quickness has been slightly revamped - Your spell power is now equal to 55% of your attack power, and you no longer benefit from other sources of spell power. Also, your instant beneficial, damaging, and totem spells cost 75% less mana.
Stormstrike no longer increases Nature damage against the target. Now grants you an additional 25% chance to critically strike that enemy with your Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Lightning Shield, and Earth Shock spells for 15 sec.
Improved Lava Lash now increases the damage of Lava Lash by 10% for each application of Searing Flames, now also causes your Lava Lash to spread your Flame Shock from the target to up to four enemies within 12 yards.
Unleashed Rage now increases melee attack power by 20% and ranged attack power by 10%.

Restoration
Ancestral Healing got an extra effect - heals you cast increase allies' maximum health by 10% of the amount healed, up to a maximum of 10% of their health.
Cleansing Waters - The heal effect can only occur once every 6 seconds.
Riptide healing effect has been increased by 50%, from 3725 to 5585.

Fury
Enrage now gives a physical damage bonus.

  • Spells which have an effect broken by taking damage past a threshold (Entangling Roots, Fear, Frost Nova, etc.) now count damage that was prevented by damage absorbs or other damage reducing effects.
  • Monstrous Bite now reduces the target’s healing received by 25%, up from 10%.
  • Widow Venom now reduces the target’s healing received by 25%, up from 10%.
  • Beacon of Light is triggered by Holy Shock, Flash of Light, Divine Light and Light of Dawn at 50% transference and Holy Light at 100% transference. It does not transfer Holy Radiance, Protector of the Innocent or other sources of healing.
  • Wound Poison now reduces the target’s healing received by 25%, up from 10%.
  • Mortal Strike now reduces the target’s healing received by 25%, up from 10%.
  • Furious Attacks now reduces the target’s healing received by 25%, up from 10%.
  • Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest: The chance for this item’s effect to be triggered has been reduced.
